Work on the arched stone Furobashi began in the 3rd year of the Kaei Period (1850) under the orders of Harutomi Tokugawa. There is a relief pattern of clouds on the railings.
Edo Period arched stone bridges are extremely rare outside of Kyushu and, in particular, the railing portion carvings are excellent.
